Ecclesiastes 3:11 Voice

"I know God has made everything beautiful for its time. God has also placed in our minds a sense of eternity; we look back on the past and ponder over the future, yet we cannot understand the doings of God."

Everything beautiful in its time. Everything. Beautiful. In its time.

I saw this verse today and I am reminded of my mother in law's passing from here to heaven. I was looking up the cemetery on my maps app to give out directions to family and friends. You know how you get the little symbol 📍 that designates the place? When I found the location, every person who had a headstone marker (or at least the majority of them) had a 📍 symbol. It stunned me. It was so surprising and it was also a light-bulb moment.

We are all a pushpin on the map of time. From beginning to the end. Created to be beautiful in and for our time.

A lifetime for most of us today is 70 - 100 years. It wasn't that long ago that a person's lifetime was much shorter. Yet, when you look at time from eternity's point of view, we are all, no matter the life in years, we are all a pushpin on the timeline of eternity.

The Bible greats like Abraham, Esther, Noah, Moses, David, Peter, and Paul; pushpins on the timeline of eternity. The Woman at the Well, the servant of Naaman, the 300 who stood with Gideon, the craftsmen of the Temple, the man at Bethesda, the woman with a pot of oil and the woman with two coins; people whose names we will never know but whose pushpins are so relevant. The famous, the infamous, and the unnamed have a point on the timeline. Everything beautiful in its time.

God's understanding of each of our pushpins is beautiful.

He sees what is in the past, what is today and what is to come. Everything. Beautiful in its time.

What does your pushpin represent?
