Pressure washing is so satisfying. Yes, that's what I said. Satisfying. You consider a plan of attack and set out to conquer it. The best part is that you see success materialize before your eyes. You can see what's clean and what's still dirty. You can see where you've been and where you still need to go. Satisfying. It's very, very satisfying. Life. Well, it's not as easy to get life lined up with our impression of ideal. You can see what's been cleaned. You know that you've been through stuff and you've applied that knowledge to your life. When you look behind you, you can see plenty of successes that are clearly visible. It's harder for us to see those places that still need work. <ugh> Thank God we have Jesus. He cleans us up and sets us back on the right path towards right standing. Righteousness. Right on track to becoming more and more like Him. Not perfect but perfectly ordered towards becoming. Becoming more loving. Becoming more generous. Becoming more thoughtful in our speech. Becoming more considerate of others. Becoming more confident. Becoming more easygoing and becoming more calm. Becoming more delightful to be around. Becoming more joyful. Becoming more able to extend grace and mercy, as needed. Becoming more like Him. I reckon that Jesus gets just as much satisfaction out of cleaning us up. Probably more. Yeah. Probably a whole lot more. Cleaning and washing us, setting us up to becoming more and more satisfied. Satisfied in Jesus. Anticipate becoming more. Satisfied. Satisfied in Jesus.
Psalm 119:57-64 MSG
"Because you have satisfied me, God, I promise to do everything you say. I beg you from the bottom of my heart: smile, be gracious to me just as you promised. When I took a long, careful look at your ways, I got my feet back on the trail you blazed. I was up at once, didn’t drag my feet, was quick to follow your orders. The wicked hemmed me in—there was no way out— but not for a minute did I forget your plan for me. I get up in the middle of the night to thank you; your decisions are so right, so true—I can’t wait till morning! I’m a friend and companion of all who fear you, of those committed to living by your rules. Your love, God, fills the earth! Train me to live by your counsel."
