Dry and Dusty
Many times, when things aren't going our way, we start wondering if God's forgotten us. As we consider the Psalms, and recall the voices of the Prophets, we know we aren't alone. Many times they too, experienced a difficult journey. A journey that can feel like a desert experience, until we change our perspective. Our perspective can change the course of our lives. I was encouraged by the perspective shared by someone I met today. This person has a varied and diverse medical history with a multitude of critical issues. Although they've endured repetitive surgeries, they're convinced that God's healing is on the way. Convinced. Totally and completely convinced. Isaiah 35:4 VOICE "Tell those who worry, the anxious and fearful, “Take strength; have courage! There’s nothing to fear. Look, here—your God! Right here is your God! The balance is shifting; God will right all wrongs. None other than God will give you success. He is coming to make you safe.” If we keep reading through this chapter, we know that although we may feel alone, we never are. Our God, the First and the Last, the Bright and Morning Star, our Redeeming Grace and our Great Physician is always present. He is never farther than our ability to recognize His presence. What we have to remember is that dry and dusty, doesn't mean deserted. We are always and continually surrounded by the presence of Almighty God.
