Cleaning and Dancing
Baking day is a Christmas tradition. Flour is sifted and sugar is creamed. Cream is whipped and chocolate is melted. There is a fine dust, made up of bits and pieces of all the scrumptiousness, covering my entire kitchen. Now it's clean up time. Psalm 51:7-8 MSG "Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean, scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life. Tune me in to foot-tapping songs, set these once-broken bones to dancing." As I was washing and cleaning up, I was singing. I put on some foot tapping music to make the work easier and sang along. God blesses us each with moments of joyful noise to get us through the day. Songs of delight and happinesss that cheer our weary hearts and set our broken spirits right into place. He is washing us up, cleansing our sadness, and setting our hearts with His love. His healing power is more than enough, abundant and comforting. When we are weary or sad, Jesus is right there. He is ready to turn our mourning into dancing and our sadness into joy. Put on some foot stomping music and dance with Him. Dance. Dance with Joy.
