Making A Way
A new year tends to bring up old history. Decisions that we regret. Opportunities that we missed. We can get all tied up in knots. So tied up in knots that our vision for today is distracted by yesterday’s perspective. Our inability to move forward can seem paralyzing. Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands." Let go of yesterday’s history. Let go of the regrets and hurts. Forgive yourself. Forgive others. Move forward. Step by step. Forgiveness is a pinnacle part of our next step. Letting go can be challenging, but the rewards certainly outweigh the difficulty. Forgiveness is an important step towards making a way to move forward into the present.
Be present. Be present and alert to potential opportunities. Opportunities that we have not seen yet. Opportunities that are part of God’s plan. God’s plans for us are good. Truly good. Amazing in fact. When we’ve find ourselves hitting a wall, we should stop. Stop and talk to God about our next step. Remember to breathe and talk each step over with God. Missteps are often a learning experience for our next step; where our stumbling blocks become stepping stones into something new. He’s making a way.
God’s making a way where we can’t see a way. When there seems to be no way, from our perspective, that is when God provides the best way possible. He’s making a way; something brand new and just for us. It’s bursting out. See it. There it is. Believe it. Live it. Breath it. It’s right there waiting.
