Stepping into a new place is exciting. You saw it coming, you had the vision. You’ve talked to friends and mentors. You’ve prayed and talked it all over with God, again and again. You’ve prepared for the day. You’ve done your homework and then some. You’ve put your whole heart into the project, and yet it can still feel scary. Joshua 1:9 NLT “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua had butterflies too. He was talking one of the biggest leaps of his life. Straight out into the unknown and he must have been jittery. He had studied and learned. He had done his homework and more. He was talking to God, again and again and you know what happened? God encouraged him. Every time he talked to God he was encouraged. Just like Joshua, we too are encouraged by God. Joshua was able to overcome his jitters, because he reached for the strength he knew he needed when he needed it. Reach out for God’s strength. Joshua knew that God would not leave him alone. Know that God is with you right now, in this new place and all the time. Be encouraged. Courage is the key to stepping into the new thing. It’s all about doing it anyway, doing it scared. Not because we are frightened, but because we can overcome our butterflies. We can overcome, because we have God in our corner. Be encouraged.
