The Word is with us. The Word is alive in us. The Word works in us. The Word works through us. The Word Who is, Who was and Who is to come. That Word is Jesus. John 1:1 MSG “The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one.” Consider this verse. Consider, deeply, the importance of what God is telling us here. The Word was first. First means that the subject, the Word, comes before all others in time or order. Comes before time was even defined. Comes before the very first day was conceived. Comes before order was made out of chaos. The Word was present to God and God was present to the Word. Together. In one another’s presence. Light and Love together in one another’s presence. The Word was God. The Word stood in readiness for God from day one. (Gosh. I’m in awe.) Jesus stood ready and willing, ready to go take on the world for our sakes from the very beginning. First and foremost, Jesus was ready. Before time was established, before the first day saw light, before the heavens were separated from the land and the sea, Jesus was ready to go get us, to go for you and for me. He was ready on day one. In the presence of Love, He became our Light, to bring us salvation and freedom. In the presence of Love, He stood ready to give His all, so that we might be saved. Jesus was ready on day one. Today, He still stands ready; ready to redeem and restore us. We have to choose to be ready to accept the great gift Jesus offers. Choose to be ready today.
