Day Three is the day that changes everything. As dark as day two was, day three brings everything into the Light. Day Three begins with the women who longed for Jesus. They gathered together and hurried to the tomb with fragrant oils that they had prepared. Fear and doubt meet them there at the tomb. The stone was rolled away. The tomb was empty. In that moment, in the midst of confusion, with their hearts pounding and their hands shaking, angels appeared and told them this simple truth. Matthew 28:5-6 HCSB “But the angel told the women, “Don’t be afraid, because I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” Right there, as Mary turns to rush away, frightened and unsure, Jesus is there. He meets her right there, while she is still fearful and full of doubt. He meets her right there, while she is quaking in her shoes. Jesus meets her right in that moment as she is full of unbelief and doubt and He reassures her. He meets, He comforts her, He reassures her and then; and then He sends her on a mission. Go and tell them. Tell them what you’ve seen here today. Tell them to remember all the things that I said. Tell them to remember the words that have been written concerning my resurrection. Tell them. Tell them you saw me and all that I spoke to you. John 20:31 HCSB “But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.” Day Three. Day Three is all about forever. Day Three is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Day Three brings everything into focus. Day Three is the answer when we are still fearful and full of doubt. Jesus is the Risen Lord. Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing in Him you will have life. Day Three is for you and for me, because Day Three sets us free.
