Walking in Joy
As I attended a home going celebration for a dear man of God today, I was reminded of the truth about walking in joy. The joy this gentle man shared with those who he came in contact with was a testament to God’s Grace and the abundant joy we find in His presence. This man’s faith was made tangible through his joyful actions as he walked here on earth. Many times we use the word faith as a noun. We need to change that misconception, and instead consider faith as an action word. Our faith joyfully displayed by sharing God’s love as we live our daily lives. Our faith in action as we care for others with compassion and comforting words. Our faith revealed in the words of encouragement that we speak; words that uplift and bring about harmony. Our faith acknowledged as we live and laugh with one another; as we pray for one another through all the ups and downs that we experience in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:7-8 NKJV “For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” Our confident faith is pure joy, in knowing that to be absent from this life is to be present with our Lord. Whatever circumstances we may be walking through, walk joyfully in confident faith. Walk with joyful abandon through any circumstances, because Jesus is the truth that will bring us through, as we walk in faith.
