Out of Touch and Out of Pocket
Out of touch and out pocket as the saying goes. Sometimes we need to take a break and rest. Maybe it’s a well earned vacation with family or friends. Perhaps it’s a celebration or simply a much needed time away from the hectic moments of life. Whatever the reason, we all need to rest and restore on occasion.
Psalms 116:7 NLT “Let my soul be at rest again, for the Lord has been good to me.” As time has marched on, my husband and I have now reached a particularly pleasing milestone. Milestones are meant to be celebrated, and celebrated big. When we hit our 20th wedding anniversay we committed to a ten year savings plan for our big milestone celebrations. Now, saving hasn't always been easy, but it has definitely been worth it. As we approach our 40th wedding anniversary, we have chosen to mark our celebration, by taking some time away together. We will be off the grid (for the most part) and away from the hectic moments of our lives. Out of touch and out of pocket, so to speak. We are so excited for our adventure. Time away for us means what for Gathered Under Grace? After all, daily devotional means daily, right? Thanks to God’s perfect plan and the people He has placed in our lives, everything will continue as it does everyday. With some prior planning and scheduling, along with the invaluable assistance of a dear friend, Gathered Under Grace devotionals will continue to publish every day while we are away. Emails will continue to be sent, the LinkedIn and the Facebook page will continue to be updated. Down time, rest and restoration, with the bonus of alone time with my honey! These are good things. Let the adventure commence. I pray that Gathered Under Grace continues to be a source of blessing to you during this time.
