Sincerity. That's a powerful word. It means that we are free of deceit, hypocrisy, or duplicity.
Deceit means that a person is creating a false persona. Lying about who and what they are. Hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is a false sense of goodness and virtue. Talking out of both sides of your mouth. Saying one thing and doing another. Duplicity. Deliberate double talk. 'Two faced' is what we used to call this when we were kids. When you say one thing to one person and something else to another person. Two faced. Insincerity.
Sincerity. To be sincere means that you act with virtue. A sincere person communicates and acts in accordance with their true feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and desires.
Psalm 139: 23-24 MSG
"Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong— then guide me on the road to eternal life."
Are there any places in your life that are contaminated by deceit, hypocrisy or duplicity? Do you know what that place might be? Ask God to examine your life and reveal any hidden places and to guide you to a better, more sincere path.
Sincerity. Make this passage a prayer over your life. Ask God to reveal any hidden agendas, any hidden objectives, any insincerities in your life. You might find yourself walking on a new and improved path. The best part of our transformation is that God will be walking with us through it all.
