I went on an exploratory investigation trip to an open house event today. The open house options, in this instance, were for my grandson’s benefit. As with most everything, it was very helpful to have a navigator, or a teacher, along for the ride. As they explained and he explored, he (and I) learned about new things that sparked an interest in him. Acts 17:11 AMP “Now these people were more noble and open-minded than those in Thessalonica, so they received the message [of salvation through faith in the Christ] with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” Our trip today put me in mind of the trip of Paul and Silas (Acts 17:10-15), as they went to speak to the people in Berea. The Berean’s were enthusiastic to learn too. They were also thoughtful about the words that they were hearing, reading and learning. They explored and discussed these things in order to test their validity. They didn’t take things at face value, but dove deep into the things that they were hearing and learning. They also had good teachers and navigators, in the person’s of Paul and Silas. Today, may we all continue on the path of the Berean’s, exploring the Word of God with enthusiasm. May we be thoughtful and learn by diving deep into the things we are hearing. reading and learning. As we learn and study the Word of God, may we recognize how truly blessed we are to have the ultimate teacher and navigator in the person of the Holy Spirit. Explore, wonder, investigate and learn the Word. Never stop diving deep into the Word of the Lord.
