The Scenic Route
Today I was reminded to be still in God’s peace. What do I mean? Over and over again today I saw this verse. In different ways and in different venues. On a Facebook meme. In a photo on Instagram. Woven into a program on television. In a conversation with a friend. Most loudly and to the point, this verse happened to be the highlighted verse in my Bible app. “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14 NLT Whatever our struggle, the Lord is there. If there’s an obstacle in our path, He’s there to help us find our way. Whether it's an uphill trip, an alternative route or plowing right through the middle of that thing, He is there. He will help us carry the load and pull us up when we feel low. He will set us upright on a path of discovery and adventure as we navigate our way through. The important part of His message is to stay calm, remain peaceful and enjoy the journey. Remember that taking the path less traveled isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Taking the alternative or scenic route is often the most enjoyable part of a journey. That’s the Word for today. Remain calm and still in His peace; remind yourself that God’s fighting on your behalf, and enjoy the journey of the scenic route.
