One of my family members recently received a difficult diagnosis. Healing included the need for surgery. There were multiple doctor visits for clearance to proceed, going from appointment to appointment, waiting and waiting. Then the day of surgery finally arrives and we find ourselves waiting once more. We waited to check in, to get prepped, for the OR to get prepped and then we proceeded to wait in the waiting room. We waited for the doctor to give us the good news (praise the Lord!). We waited for the recovery team to come and get us. We waited for some additional tests, for a room upstairs and for transportation to said room. Waiting and waiting and waiting some more. Matthew 11:28 NLT “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” The struggle is real. We go through stuff everyday and we wait. Waiting is hard and takes it own special kind of toll on us. We do not have to wait for even a minute to talk to Jesus. He is there and ready for us to share our burdens with Him. When we go to Him we will find rest and restoration. When we release all the things we carry to Jesus we will find rest, no waiting required.
