Freedom is a privilege that we share in Christ. A privilege is defined as a right, immunity, or benefit enjoyed only by a person beyond the advantages of most people. The freedom that we enjoy is a benefit which we ought to hold in an honorable and gracious way. Our freedom is to be used for good, not as an excuse to be less than we ought to be, but to be proactive towards others in our faith walk. Galatians 5:13 MSG “It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.” Since our freedom is not understood or enjoyed by someone who doesn’t know Jesus, we also get the privilege to be ambassadors for Jesus. Utilizing our freedom to serve others with love, with goodness, kindness and with joyful enthusiasm. Our freedom calls on us to proactively participate in life with those around us, making the best kind of choices for ourselves and to the benefit of others. Freedom. It’s a benefit and a choice. Choose to grow in Christ’s freedom, by being proactive in the actions we choose on a daily basis.
