The Adventure called School
As most of us are preparing for the new school year, it seems to be approaching much quicker than we expected. Our children are preparing to undergo exciting changes that will be new and yet, familiar. Schedules and homework and new teachers and new friends. All the things that go into the new school year are going to be invigorating and exciting. At least for a little while. <smile> As adults, our schedules are going to go through some changes as well. Preparing now for the transition eases the anxiety and increases the joy that will be found in the days ahead. Planning our one last hurrah adventure, school supply shopping, that great backpack, and new shoes usually top the list. As we prepare and plan, let’s remind ourselves to pray. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Pray for our children, for their teachers and schools. Pray for God’s peace, and grace and joy as they each begin the new school year. Pray for wisdom and knowledge to flow from their instructors and into their minds. Pray for their hearts to be a blessing to others. Pray for kindness and generosity and friendship between students, teachers, administrators and parents. Pray for ourselves as we guide and direct our students. Pray for understanding and grace as we tackle all the changes, even within our own perspective. Pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide each one of us, as we strive be the best version of ourselves. Pray for God’s blessings and encouragement for all of us, as we enter into this new and exciting adventure called school.
