The Right Way to Go
I began reading the Bible today in Ephesians. I moved on to Galatians and then later on in the day, I read through Nahum, Habakkuk Zephaniah and on through Malachi. This evening I read through Ecclesiastes and I started reading Proverbs. Reading the Bible is always a good thing. I read about praying for one another. I read of the anticipation of the coming Day of the Lord. I read about everything under the sun and read about searching out wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As I read, I was reading about things I understood, and things I still need help understanding. I was only reading, yet even so, I gleaned so very much in the process. Proverbs 2:6-9 NLT “For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.” Wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Common sense and honesty. Protection, integrity and faithfulness. All these and more are available to us, and for us, as we glean and gain more from each reading. Each time we visit a certain section we see and understand something new from the Word of God. Reading God’s Word is available to us, but we must take the time to read. No time to read? Then listening is a choice that’s available to us too, but then again, we have to take the time to listen.
Psalm 34:8 says ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’. Every adventure is like our favorite meal set before us. As we soak up every morsel of the Word, we will grow in understanding of what is right, just, and fair, and we WILL find the right way to go. We all need to find the right way to go. Amen to that!
