Rock bottom is the term most often used to describe a place of despair. A place without joy or light. A place that’s filled with our broken pieces. A broken heart, broken promises, broken aspirations, or just plain broke. No one wants to be there. We don’t wake up one morning and say to ourselves I’m gonna go to rock bottom today. Ephesians 3:14 NLT “When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father.” The bottom may seem like such a deep, far away place; a place that has no way out, except when we find ourselves on our knees. The Lord is there. He is always available to help and assist us back up onto our feet. We can’t do it alone, but we can do it with God as the lifter of our head (Psalm 3:3). God’s grace and mercy are plentiful, we need only ask Him to help. We have to do our part too. Our part includes listening, following His directions, and making an effort to make an effort. Whatever our hurts and heartaches are, take all the broken pieces to God. God is called the Potter for a reason; He can put all of our brokenness back together again.
