Doing new things can be exciting, with a little bit of fear thrown in to keep us on our toes. One of my friends has just completed one set of rigorous studies and is now embarking on a new set of demanding training. Completely elated, bubbling with excitement and with an tiny touch of ‘oh what’s this going to be like’ for good measure. Another friend is moving to a new city, in a new state and is filled with anticipation and enthusiasm with a tiny sense of the unknowns keeping her company. Another friend is finding out that we are not always going to know what tomorrow is going to bring, but whatever it is, when we know that Jesus is there, we can still move forward. Matthew 14:27 MSG “But Jesus was quick to comfort them. “Courage, it’s me. Don’t be afraid.” Courage, it’s Me. Don’t be afraid. Jesus is quick to comfort us when we are trembling and anxious. My own experiences have taught me this lesson well. Courage isn’t a lack of fear, but moving forward afraid, because we know that Jesus is there too. Moving forward isn’t always easy, but it is always easier with Jesus on board.
