I attended a wonderful community event today. It was held in a local park and spearheaded by a local church. There were youth groups, pastors, and congregants from a variety of denominations and different congregations, leading games, participating in various ways, and mingling throughout the event. There was popcorn and face painting and candy and prizes and music and ... oh so much more. There was fun to be had by all and opportunities to connect and to be connected. 1 Corinthians 1:10 NLT “I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” At the conclusion of the event there was an altar call. A precious moment transpired in front of me as a young man connected with the person standing next to him, leading them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Teenagers, adults and kids of all ages came to know Jesus today as the altar was packed with new believers. Unity coming together from within the community, filled with the message and the amazing grace and love found in Jesus. Coming together as the family of God, all the various branches united by Jesus and working in harmony to see others come to faith. Well, that has to be one of the best ways to spend a day.
