Sparrows are teeny tiny little birds. Their wings are quick as they fly from one branch to another, and they move almost faster than we can see them. They never worry or wonder what they do or don’t deserve. They surely consider themselves loved and cared for, as they enjoy the bounty that God provides for them. Matthew 10:29-31 NLT “What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” If (or should I say when) things are getting us down, we need to remind ourselves that our God loves us so very much. He knows our hearts and our minds. He knows the number of hairs on our head and He knows how many of those hairs feel off last night. He knows our story (our entire story) and He loves us through it all. Our Father cares about us and our lives. Occasionally we may need that reminder. We have value and worth in our Father’s eyes, far greater than an entire flock of Sparrows and that’s a very great amount indeed.
***Chorus from 'His Eye is on the Sparrow'***
"I sing because I'm happy and I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the Sparrow and I know He's watching over me."
