Turning the Tide
We all have struggles. It’s a day in and day process to come to terms with our own issues. Some days we are better at dealing with them than others, but everyday we have to deal with them. Admitting the fact that we even have an issue helps. As the saying goes, admitting we have a problem is the first step towards healing. Coming to terms with a weakness is a big step forward. In 2 Corinthians Paul speaks about struggling with his own issues. Paul was complaining about his struggle and asking God to take it away when God replied with an unexpected answer. 2 Corinthians 12:9 MSG “and then he told me, ‘My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.’ Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness.“ Wow! Such a great concept. When we stop focusing on the negative aspects and appreciate the positive we can turn the tide ... well, we can’t, but God certainly can. God’s provision and promises include helping us overcome our weaknesses. Overcoming our weakness may not include removing them, but it does include all the Grace we need to learn to walk well with them. It is about learning to walk it out in His strength, because God’s Grace is all more than enough.
