Blurred Reality

Falsehoods. Fibs. Fiction. Exaggeration. Fabrication. Truth adjustments. Manufactured realism's. Whatever we happen to call it, it is still a lie. Lies do not tell the truth about us. Lies build a facade that falls apart easily. Lies tend to require bolstering with additional lies, which inevitably leads to more lies, until the real truth is so blurred that we couldn’t find it with a magnifying glass. Lies are nothing more than a blurred imitation of reality. John‬ ‭8:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The truth is always better. The truth sets us free. Jesus was talking about believing in His truth and believing in Him. When we walk in His truth it sets us free from the things of this world. We are free to walk in truth because of Jesus, and to be who we are because of Him. The truth that sets us free includes becoming more like Jesus as we grow in His truth. When we emulate Jesus we are working on becoming more like Him. We are more kind, generous and loving. We are forgiving and gracious and we offer genuine friendship. We are supportive and merciful and we pray for one another. We are more thoughtful and patient and encouraging; and we are all these things and more. We are walking in truth, because of the reality of Jesus. We are free to be who we are, because the truth of Jesus sets us free; and that’s the real truth.
