Cobwebs and Dreams
I decorated our living room with what I like to call rustic chic. Lots of wood and metal with a hint of rust and usability. The whole concept revolved around four plaques that I came across a while back. Each has a great message. I hung them in a specific order, for a specific reason. The first one is Faith. Our Faith in Jesus holds everything else together. Without our faith, our salvation, our hope ... life is way harder than it has to be. Believe is next because when we have faith we also have to believe that God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. Dream is next. When we have faith in God and we believe in His plan we can see His vision for our lives. We can go for the big dream and with faith we can believe that dream can become a reality. The last one is laugh because when we have joy in the journey we are filled with laughter. Laughter is the manifestation of the joy that fills our spirits because of our faith, our belief and our dreams. Faith. Believe. Dream. Laugh. It’s a great concept for a living room and for life too. Psalms 20:4 NLT “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.” Psalms 37:4 NLT “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” We had just been talking about walking out the dream, the desire of our hearts, that God has placed within us. Fulfilling those dreams, walking them out, that is our purpose. Our dreams, our hearts desires aren’t supposed to be sitting idly by waiting for who knows what to happen first. As we were talking, we looked up at those plaques and ‘dream’ was sporting a cobweb. It made us giggle and quickly run for the duster, but it was also a very poignant moment. Are your dreams sitting on a shelf collecting dust bunnies? Then it’s time to take that dream out of mothballs and for a test drive. Ask questions, research the possibilities, find a mentor, start walking on the path towards that dream. The desires of our hearts should fill us with joy, all shored up by our belief and our faith. God’s plans for us are good. Never doubt it. Dust off those cobwebs and get busy.
