A Kid’s Wisdom
Teaching our kids is part of our job as a parent. Don’t touch that, brush your teeth every day, and the importance of manners. We worry through the lessons of driving, taking their first steps and that all important lesson ‘gravity is a real thing’ which can be difficult for both of us. Our children can make us crazy, and occasionally, they end up teaching us a thing or two in the process.
Proverbs 22:6 AMP
“Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Kids are the best part of our lives. We pour wisdom into them and we then we hope and pray that it sticks. They make us laugh, they make us cry and sometimes they make us happier than we thought possible. As toddlers we aren’t sure that we are doing a good job. When they are tweens, we begin to see the fruits of our labor and as teenagers they can surprise us with their insights. Our children can and do occasionally speak words of wisdom into our lives that can change our perspective for the better. Reminding us that we are worthy of the good stuff in life too, and teaching us that we are deserving of all that God has for us. Teaching our kids to seek God’s leading and to trust in His direction may seem daunting at times, but when we see (and hear) the results we are blessed beyond measure.
