Things happen. Stuff gets lost. We make mistakes. We cross against traffic. We send the wrong information. We forgot to pay a bill. We miss a meeting. The bus is late. We fall a test. Negative circumstances can reap havoc on our responses. Then we have positive circumstances that make our day brighter. We hit green at every light. We circumvent a potential problem. Our ‘pay it forward’ is rewarded with our own special gift. We catch a beautiful sunset. We get a great deal at the store. We share a fun dinner that is full of joy and laughter. We get promoted. Positive circumstances create a whole different set of responses.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 TPT
“Now, may the Lord himself, the Lord of peace, pour into you his peace in every circumstance and in every possible way. The Lord’s tangible presence be with you all.”
Our circumstances may not all be the same, yet our responses to any set of circumstances should be. Depend on God, not on what ever is happening around us. His peace is the only thing that we can count on no matter our circumstances. May His presence be the guiding light that we see when our circumstances are less than bright, and our joy when our circumstances are on the rise.
Jesus says this in John 14:27 “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!”
Peace. That’s what we ALL need right about now. No matter our circumstances; trust God, remain thankful and courageous, and receive His gift of peace.
