Running Head First
I have been going through some family stuff. My eldest sister passed away in early April, and it’s been tough. We were already missing a brother (2014) and another sister (2016) and now we are missing another link. We are slowly adjusting to our new normal, but normal just doesn’t seem right. I still want to talk things through with them and I do, but it’s just not the same. Today I’ve been feeling disconnected ... that is until God reminded me of this verse and it brought me such joy. I hope it brings you joy too.
Luke 15:20 MSG
“When he was still a long way off, his father saw him. His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him.“
The Father, our Father, our Father God ran to meet them. Even as they were leaving this world, our Father was running to meet them. His heart was pounding with anticipation and bounding with joy. He didn’t just stand there waiting patiently, He ran. Full on, head up and shouting with excitement and joy, He was running. Laughter was bubbling up and the smiles were extraordinary. Hugs and kisses were exchanged as they were welcomed home. One day ... one day ... may we will all experience our home going into the arms of our Savior in just such a way. Running! Running head first and full of joy in the arms of our Father.
