Sleep ... It Does A Body Good
What a difference a day makes. We’ve all heard this saying, but man alive, it was so true today. Yesterday I was dragging. Time was ticking by slower than molasses, and I was ready for my day to come to a conclusion well before it did. ‘Oh Lord please let this day come to a conclusion soon’ was my favorite thing to say to the Lord yesterday. We’ve all had those days. The hours seem to drag. We are busy doing what we do and we look up thinking it must be close to lunchtime and it’s only ten o’clock. We keep chugging along and now we’re sure its gotta be at least 1:00 pm, but it’s only 11:10 am. Not to anyones surprise, the afternoon and evening follow suit. It’s like Groundhog Day; the movie moment that never ends. Then there’s sleep. Sleep; it does a body good.
Psalms 4:8 TPT
“Now, because of you, Lord, I will lie down in peace and sleep comes at once, for no matter what happens, I will live unafraid!”
Today my favorite thing to say to the Lord was a great big ‘thank you for this beautiful day’. What a difference a day makes and more importantly, a good nights rest. We can rest, we can sleep soundly tonight, and every night, because we have peace in all of our tomorrow’s. Peace and courage is a gift. Sleep soundly and well, surrounded by God’s peace. Sleep ... it does a body good.
John 14:27 TPT
“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!”
