That’s a Promise
As I was reading about Joshua yesterday, I was intrigued by this verse.
Joshua 1:3 NLT
“I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you—”
Moses. A bigger than life kind of guy. He washed up on the shores of the Nile to become a prince. His discovery of his Israeli heritage changed his perspective. He ran hard and fast and yet he was still found by God. He made some mistakes and even a few extremely poor choices and yet God still chose him. He wasn’t a politician or even comfortable as a public speaker and yet he was still the leader God chose to bring the Word of God to Egypt. He lead the Hebrew people out of Egypt and held the waters for their escape. He was also the one who saw the presence of the Lord as He passed; only from behind because His glory is so very great. He was also the person God chose to receiver the Ten Commandments; not once but twice. He was self conscious, lack self confidence and he had his moments with self control, and yet the Lord still chose Moses. Wherever Moses walked, he walked with God. That promise is also a promise for each of us. We are all useful to the plans and purposes of the Lord; even when we think we lack the inner strength, God’s strength is more than enough. God’s got a plan and it’s a good plan; that’s a promise.
