The Night and the Light
Tonight, and most evenings, I enjoy sitting on my balcony as the stars begin displaying their brilliance. The last month or two, I have watched as the bright light of Jupiter comes out of the darkness just after sunset to be joined by Saturn, and the various other stars that light up the night sky. Our moon, the stars and the planets all have light, although hidden from us during the day by the light of the sun, we know that we can count on their sparkle every evening; that is unless there’s a storm brewing. As we know, storms tend to hide light in the darkness of it’s swollen, swirling clouds.
Our Lord God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, created each and every twinkle in our sky, all of the night’s lights, and He created the sun that rises each morning and gives light to the daytime. Each day and each night we can count on that light. Everyday the sun rises and each night the stars dot the nights sky with light. Every single day, and every single night, even when we have trouble seeing the light because of the storms and the brewing storms that can obscure the light, we know that the light is still there.
Psalm 27:1 NKJV
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
The Lord is our ever present help in time of need. He is the light that casts out the darkness in our lives. He is our salvation and our strength. Remember this ... even when life’s storms are raging, when brewing storms are disturbing our atmosphere, when we are having trouble seeing the light because of all the clouds and the darkness in life, Jesus is still there. Jesus IS the light of the world and He is the light of life. We can depend on Him; each and every single day.
John 8:12 NKJV
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
