Thou, Oh Lord
There are days that songs run through my head; over and over again. For several years I was a part of a fabulous choir and we sang amazingly beautiful songs. Many of those songs were based entirely on Bible verses. It was one of these songs that was on my heart and running through my mind today.
Psalm 3:3-5 KJV
“But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.”
‘Thou Oh Lord’ is the name of the song. When compared, the lyrics and the verses of Psalm 3, are so very similar that we learn the Psalm when we learn the song and vice versa. Thou oh Lord, He is our shield and the lifter of our heads. The Lord hears our cries. When disturbing thoughts and difficult situations keep us awake remember that the Lord is our shield, the lifter of our head and our sustainer. In Him we will find our rest.
