Romans 8: 38-39 NLT
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This verse convinces me that I am loved by the Lord. His love overcomes my failures. His love protects me from my own worries and fears. Our human doubts, our fears can try (or should I say attempt to try), to put space between us and God. We can become like Thomas (John 20: 24-29) and doubt can turn us into our own worst enemy. Doubt can make us question what we believe is true. The Lord sees us through our doubt. He understands that doubt can exist in us. He understands our fear of the unknown and knows that the unseen can pull at and cause struggle within our minds.
When those times come I can fall back on these verses. I can face the difficulties, the unknowns that may cause fear, the doubt in my circumstances, my worries about what tomorrow might bring; all of it. I can face it because I am convinced that 'nothing can separate me from the love of God'. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing ever.
When circumstances come against you, when doubt and fear try to take your mind hostage, when difficulties arise and things seem out of control; remember these verses. Nothing can come between you and the love of God. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing ever.
