Jeremiah 1:10 MSG
"Your job is to pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, And then start over, building and planting.”
I began reading in Jeremiah today and was reminded of an amazing sermon I heard yesterday. It is time for us to take an offensive position and declare the power of God over our lives.
As Christians we tend to take a defensive posture. We pray and declare God's power on something that is already happening. We get a bad report and declare healing. Our finances are a wreck and we ask for divine intervention. Our relationship is on the brink and we want Jesus to do something to change things. Our kids are making bad decisions and we want God to fix them. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that prayer in this way is wrong. Prayer is never wrong.
What I am saying is that our God is bigger. Our God is stronger. Our God has creation at His fingertips. He can handle anything. It's time for us to remember (and believe) that Jesus has covered us with His salvation. He has given us, through the Holy Spirit, the power to do all He did and more.
John 14:12 NLT
"I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father."
Instead we need to begin to pray and declare before the world crashes around us. We have to break the ties that bind us before they become so tight that we're strangled by them. Pull them up and tear them down. Declare God over obstacles before they happen. Each little thing, annihilate them as they happen. Don't wait for the accumulation to overwhelm you. Get at it now!
The devil may think we're gonna fall down but our God is bigger than any bully on the playground. Declare and defeat the devil before he can make that tension grow into a complete breakdown in communication. Take apart the intentions of the enemy and dismember his attack with an attack of your own. Go on offense.
Tell the devil to let go of your stuff.
Tell the devil that God is all over your money so he can go get a loan somewhere else. Declare growth in your finances.
Tell the devil your mind is renewed each day by God. He doesn't have the power to twist it. Declare new wisdom and clarity in your mind.
Tell the devil that God has a brilliant plan for your future and he can just forget his scheming and run for the hills. Declare new vision and ability over your future.
Tell the devil your body houses the Holy Spirit and he knows that means he had better go the other way. Declare new ideas to protect and promote a better lifestyle and a healthier body.
Tell the devil that your household is covered by the blood of Jesus and he has no authority over anything or anyone. Tell the devil to let go and get gone, because God has His hand upon each of you and all your stuff. Declare a sound mind and a right attitude over your children. Declare an increase in friendship and a new devotion in your relationship with your spouse.
Our God is able. Our God is stronger. Our God is ready to take on the bully. The devil won't know what hit him. Our God wins!
