An Everyday Blessing

January 22, 2017

I was repeating these verses to myself today. Speaking God's word is powerful. Believing God's words as you speak them makes the words full of power.

Numbers 6: 24-26. NIV

"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face on you and give you peace."

As I began to look up the different versions to grasp the meaning of these few sentences, I was amazed. Here in these few sentences we are shown the Trinity in a special way. This blessing was given up Moses to pass on to Aaron and his sons to bless God's people with each day. Every day! A blessing for everyday! An Everyday Blessing!

24 "May the LORD bless you and keep you." Here God the Father is giving the Blessing. May the Father bless you; cover you with blessings, supply abundance and all manner of good things. May the Father keep you; protect you and watch over you. Keep you safe. Yes! Every day I need this.

25 "May the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you." Here the Son, Jesus, is giving the Blessing. May Jesus make His light shine on you. Jesus is the Light of the world. May His light shine on you so that through you His light will shine on others. 'This light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.' May Jesus let His light shine on you. May Jesus be gracious to you. Grace. Wow! Yes! We all need the Grace offered by Jesus everyday. Every single day of our lives.

26 "May the Lord turn His face on you and give you peace." Here the Holy Spirit is offering the Blessing. May the Holy Spirit look at you, see you and see the truth. May the Holy Spirit set your feet on track and shine His light so you can see the way you should go. And give you peace. Hallelujah! Peace that what you're doing is right. Peace in you choices. Peace in your decisions. Peace. Yes! Every single day!

When you really look at these few sentences it is completely breathtaking! Blessings from The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. God has provided a marvelous and lavish Blessing for His people for Every Day! Yes! Every single day these are the Blessings God offers to His people. Yes!  Every single day!  An Everyday Blessing!
