The first thing this morning I started out singing 'Walking on Sunshine'.
Today's song started out as an encouraging word for someone else, and turned into an encouraging word for me. How often do we start out sending a quick note, an amusing meme or an oddball pic to encourage someone else and that same thing turns into an unexpected encouragement for us?
Singing for me is ... well, pretty much everything can be imagined into a song. I see a few words and there's a song in my head to go with it. Sometimes it stays inside my head and sometimes it comes right out of my mouth, but it's always there. Just like this morning. 'Walking on Sunshine' turned itself into a Praise song. It became 'Walking in Son-Shine, whoa oh, and don't it feel good. Yeah! I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the love that's really real. Hey, and don't it feel good! Yeah!'
Raise the roof! Get your worship on. Sing and shout. Lift the rafters. Rock out to The Rock! Hum those hymns. Make a joyful noise.
Encourage someone and be encouraged. Praise God whenever and with whatever you're doing and you'll find yourself full of joy!
God loves our encouraging ways and encourages us in them. He enjoys us and yes, He enjoys our singing. He loves our Praises. He fills us with an abundance of Joy every time.
Try it. Come on. Rock Out! Rock out to the Rock!
Psalm 95: 1-2 MSG
"Come, let’s shout praises to God, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us! Let’s march into his presence singing praises, lifting the rafters with our hymns!"
