Get a Grip!

May 5, 2017

Gosh it's a harsh world out there. We see rejection and harsh words every day. Actions that instigate controversy and contribute to the drama. The 'flair for the dramatic' isn't an occasional saying anymore. It's becoming second nature to expect our 'daily dose of drama'. Yikes and oh my goodness!

I'm so over it. The world at large may expect and even anticipate the next 'drama', but I am seeking so much more. More and better. I am seeking peace and hope and joy and happiness and contentment and comfort and health and restoration and prosperity and learning and justice and reconciliation and satisfaction and sincerity and kindness and knowledge and compassion and commitment and dedication and integrity and promotion and encouragement and ... and I could go on and on. It all comes down to love. Loving one another. Lifting each other up. Holding on to each other, instead of knocking each other down for what ever reason we can dream up today.

Are you feeling bummed? Are you feeling rejected and put upon? Are you 'over the drama'? Are you oh so ready for a change?  Then ... Let's get a grip.

A firm grip on the promises of God that keep us going. Invent new ways to encourage yourself and your fellowman. Invent new ways to help others. Be part of a fellowship of believers that is focused on spurring each other on...together. A group of people who seek out the promises that keep us going, who are innovative and find new ways to encourage, love and help one another, and who spur each other on and hold each other up.

Let's all just get a grip. A good firm grip! Can I get a Hallelujah!

Hebrews 10:23-25 MSG
"Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
