Broken

July 11, 2017

Broken by pain is a difficult place to be. It's a place that takes its toll on our aptitude to complete our daily tasks. Day to day everything can feel harder. Days can pass and all you feel is dark and cloudy. Pain can begin to make us feel broken and in pieces.

Pain. It's a little word with an intense meaning. Pain can be physical and/or emotional. Whether it's either or both, intense feelings are connected to pain. Pain drains our reserves and we end up feeling like nothing can help.

God is there. Ready to rescue you. Instead of sinking into the pain, sink into His strength. He can renew your strength. With God's help, you can make progress out of the dark side of the intensity.

Will there be work involved? Probably. We can't move out of darkness and into the light without actually moving. Moving implies work has to be done.

Emotional movement takes work. Going through your old painful stuff, picking up each item, and taking a good hard look. It takes work. It takes hard work (and sometimes therapy) to get to the place to overcome those old hurts.

Physical movement takes work. The up and downs of doing things. It takes work. In order to keep moving we have to keep moving. It takes work. It takes hard work (and sometimes therapy) to keep moving forward and overcome the challenges of not moving.

Begin each a new day with God as your coach and your confidante. With God's help you CAN move out of the darkness and into the light.

Psalm 34:17-18 MSG
"Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath."

Isaiah 9:2-3 MSG
"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. For those who lived in a land of deep shadows— light! sunbursts of light! You repopulated the nation, you expanded its joy. Oh, they’re so glad in your presence! Festival joy! The joy of a great celebration, sharing rich gifts and warm greetings."
