Such A Time

August 18, 2017

Esther 4:13 The Voice
"Tell Esther, “Don’t be fooled. Just because you are living inside the king’s palace doesn’t mean that you out of all of the Jews will escape the carnage. You must go before your king. If you stay silent during this time, deliverance for the Jews will come from somewhere, but you, my child, and all of your father’s family will die. And who knows? Perhaps you have been made queen for such a time as this.”

Esther was cautious. She was cautious for good reason. She might lose everything. Everything including her life. Her Uncle Mordecai was desperate for her help. She had to be the one to seek relief from the King. Death for her family and her nation were at stake. If she didn't try - well God would surely send someone else, but ... perhaps. (Then we have that famous saying.) 'Perhaps you have been made queen for such a time as this.'

This type of statement from God is always so accurate and astounding. Accurate, astounding, and always chocked full of wisdom. Sometimes we are asked to stand up for ourselves, for others, or like Esther, for an entire nation. Is today our 'such a time as this' moment? Are we too, living in the King's palace, feel safe and secure. Cautiously hoping that we don't have to become involved. Is this our 'such a time as this' moment?

If we have studied the Bible, we can easily wonder if we may be living in the end times. Tribulation and strife surround us. We also know and understand that no one will know the day or the hour. Yes, we may recognize and follow the signs with amazement and wonder. We may find ourselves completely in awe and awash in wonderment, asking ..Is this the day? Is this the hour? BUT, until we see that day and that hour we are to keep on keeping on. Believing for tomorrow, full of love, hope and faith, and continually praying.

That's what we are called to do. To pray for one another. For you and I are a called people. We are called to love our fellow man and woman. Every day. We are a people who are called to display the attributes of love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, generosity and patient understanding. Every day. We are called to forgive quickly and without regret. Every day. We are a people who are called to be strong enough to stand up for our God and humble enough to pray for our nation and our people. Every single day. Because we are a called people. We are each called 'for such a time as this.'

2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT
"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."
