As I turned to the Word today I stopped on this passage.
Matthew 7:24-25 MSG
“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock."
As homeowners we are concerned about our investment. Additions and improvements are considered an investment in our future. We work hard to protect our investment, if and when natural disasters threaten. As believers, we are covered by the best investment insurance possible, in the house that is built upon the Rock.
If you're living anywhere from Texas to Florida, you're probably one tired puppy. If you're living in the Caribbean you're probably exhausted from the effort and effects from a Cat 5. Whatever your situation, you may be experiencing that feeling of what's coming next. Whether we are in restoration mode or preparation mode, (if you're outside of this weather event you may currently be in resting mode) we should all stay in prayer mode. We will pray our way through these weather conditions, pray our way through our current situation and stand strong. We have to remember that no matter the weather, no matter the trouble, our house is built upon the Rock.
Nothing moves the house that is fixed upon the Rock. No amount of rain, sleet, snow or wind moves our Rock. When we are fixed upon the Rock we stand strong. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who is the Rock, and trust in Him to get us through our current situation. Rain or no rain, our lives, hearts and minds are should be firmly fixed on Jesus. We are the house that is built upon the Rock. Stand strong!
