Hemmed In and Hanging

October 5, 2017

Anger, anxiety and frustration can lead us down the wrong path. We can easily find ourselves lost in these feelings when we are in midst of being unable to control our circumstances. That boxed in, hung out to dry, hanging by my fingernails feeling that we can experience when we are being hindered right and left. Disappointment wells up and that feeling of being hemmed in on every side can be challenging.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

These words rest within easy eyesight every day. They sit, unobstructed, right under the television. Neatly framed and intentionally placed to obscure cables. They also, intentionally, remind us everyday that we don't know everything about everything. Days can go by and we don't read these words or even remember that they are there. Situations come up, circumstances change, plans become unpleasantly confused and there they are. That wonderful reminder that God knows it all.

God knows what we are experiencing and how to help us come out on the other side of our feelings. When we lean into God He deposits wisdom and strength and even forgiveness when needed. When we trust God and seek His will, He will carry us through every challenge we face. We will prevail, because He prevails. God knows the way through.
