Today I have been singing the Doxology hymn that I grew up singing. It’s running through my head and all through my spirit. Covering me in the presence of God as I praise Him.
‘Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.’
The word Doxology means just that; an expression of praise. Expressing praise for the Wonderful Wonderment that is our God. The opportunity to praise God is never far from us. Out loud or in our head, there is always an opening for praise.
Psalm 103:1-5 MSG
“O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I’ll bless his holy name! O my soul, bless God , don’t forget a single blessing! He forgives your sins—every one. He heals your diseases—every one. He redeems you from hell—saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.”
From my head to my toes, I bless His Holy name. I praise Him for His blessings that flow; forgiveness, healing and redemption; for His love, mercy and goodness; for the restoration and renewal that are all found in His presence. From my head to my toes, I bless His Holy name. I praise Him for all His blessings that flow in and through and over my life.
Doxology. An expression of praise. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. From the top of your head to your tippy tippy toes, praise Him. Joyfully and robustly, softly and tenderly, out loud and silently, by yourself and with a group. In every way and every day, take every opportunity to Praise God!
