Psalm 9:1 MSG
“I’m thanking you, God, from a full heart, I’m writing the book on your wonders. I’m whistling, laughing, and jumping for joy; I’m singing your song, High God.”
Psalm 9 begins a joyful tribute to God. Thanking Him during a time of celebration that was the result of a time of crisis. Salvation was the result and thankfulness was the outcome.
We all have these moments. Times in our lives that seem so dark and we feel alone and lonely. We may be surrounded by crowds of people and yet we can feel all alone. Moments when we feel like this are not true, because we know God is always there.
David had these moments too. The boy who would be king, the guy who wrote so many of the Psalms, the man after God’s own heart. He had them too. David overcame adversity and the struggles associated with feeling alone by talking to God. He knew God was there. He sang to Him, he talked to Him and he came to know Him. He knew God was there.
David’s attitude was the key. Even when things weren’t going as he had expected, even when the ground felt shaky and he felt all alone, he knew he wasn’t. God was there. God is always there.
Depend on it. Depend on God. Have an attitude like David’s. Thank God through the struggle, because the result will always be our salvation. God has our best interest in mind and with His help we will find our way out. Depend upon it. God is always there.
