There is a pond near my house that is a temporary home to a family of five ducks. I have joyfully watched as they played, bathed and slept upon the waters. There have been sunny days, rainy days, cold days and even colder days lately, and through it all, there they are, floating about upon the waters, happy to be alive. There they are as the cold moved in, and as the rains came down, tucked up under one another’s wings, resting in the face of the storm. There they are, once again frolicking and playing, as the sun shone down again upon this little family. As I watched this family it was a reminder that God loves us so much more.
Matthew 6:26 NLT
“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”
Just as the birds of the air and the lilies in the field are cared for, we are also cared for by God. Much more than these birds, who are dependent upon Him for everything, who rely upon their creator each day, so should we. God loves us so much more, and when we rely upon Him, He will see us through every stormy season and bless us even more so during the sunny days. Rely upon God’s great love. God’s love for us is so much more than enough, it is truly abundance.
