An attitude adjustment. This is something that I have been saying frequently lately. My grandsons are of the age that they need this reminder daily. Sometimes we, the people who are supposed to be grown ups, need to be reminded of this little treasure as well.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. A simple concept, but we can lose sight of the importance of thinking about others. We shout at each other. We rant on social media. We take advantage of any opportunity to get the upper hand. 'Do unto others before they do unto you.' You and I have both heard this twisted saying. Whatever it takes. Right? Is this the concepts we are teaching our children? Is this what our actions are portraying? Are we the bad apple? I pray not!
I pray that we are instilling the idea that you should think of others. Do for others. Be nice to others. Be kind to others. Jesus gave us some specific guidance in this area. "Love others as I have loved you." and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Search yourself. Look at your responses. Take a peek at your gestures to others. Listen to your own words closely. Take a minute and read the words you are writing for the world to see. Pray about it. Seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Ask this simple question.
Do I need an attitude adjustment?
Matthew 7:12 MSG
“Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get."
