As I was returning from hearing some amazingly good news, I also saw God’s promise in the sky. Recently I’ve seen rainbows most every day. Yes, we’ve been receiving rain, lots of rain. We’ve also seen the sign of God’s promise repeatedly. In this particular instance, I saw the Glory of God in the colors that were revealed. Not just a single rainbow, but a double portion to boot. I have to say I was astounded by the sight.

Genesis‬ ‭9:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.”
What is a covenant? Merriam Webster defines a covenant as a formal, solemn and binding agreement. A written agreement or promise. God’s promise, and our redemption. A promise that binds us to God and God to us. When we see a rainbow, we should remember these promises.

John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

The promise of Jesus is to be the truth and the way and the life. His Promise is of life everlasting. When we see a rainbow, we should remember these promises.

John‬ ‭14:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”

The promise of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us. When we see a rainbow, we should remember these promises.

Faith, hope and love. God’s promises are always filled with faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). The promise of God’s great love is for us. Every time we see a rainbow, we should also recognize and remember God’s great promises of Love.
