Maintenance. It’s a big word with big meaning, (plus it’s a hard to spell correctly). Maintenance is defined as the process of maintaining or preserving someone or something, or the state of being maintained. We may consider certain people ‘high’ maintenance. We may drive a ‘high’ maintenance vehicle. Maintenance is all about maintaining the correct balance of continuity.
We do maintenance on our homes...Hopefully. We maintain our bank accounts and our cars...Hopefully. We maintain our jobs and our personal routines...Hopefully. We maintain our kids schedules and help them establish their own perspective about maintaining a balanced life...Hopefully. Hopefully, we maintain our relationship with God.
Romans 12:2 NLT
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Maintenance, regular contact with Jesus, is the best way for us to learn His will for our lives. Balanced, regular maintenance is the key to a transformed life with God. Keeping up with our faith maintenance transforms us. God’s will for our lives, which is good and pleasing and perfect, is maintained and strengthen by our participation in our relationship with Him.
