We’ve all heard the stories about the person behind the wheel of that wildly driven car out on the road. The one who is shouting profanities and cutting in and out of traffic. The car that is being driven like a maniac, all while there is a Jesus Fish bumper sticker that attests to the drivers beliefs. Yikes.
James 1:22 NLT
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”
Yes, we can each make bad choices and have moments that we wish we could get back. It’s not about the occasional failings, but an illusion of walking in faith. Illusions aren’t real. An illusion is itself false, and is not reality. Being real doesn’t mean we won’t make mistakes, but it does mean that we ought to be doing our best to walk out our faith. Walk it out by walking in grace and mercy and peace and joy and happiness and forgiveness and love and faith. Let’s not fool ourselves, but rely and depend upon God’s instruction for our actions. Walk out a life of faith with God.
