Clumsy Words

August 25, 2018

As a kid, I had a few years that we refer to as my clumsy years. Let’s just say that the emergency room staff came to know me by name. My doctor suggested that it had to do with the fact that I was slightly pigeon toed, but whatever the reason I was considered an accident waiting to happen. I’m no more clumsy than the average person, but that word stuck. It wasn’t malicious or with an intent to cause me ill. It was a bit of a joke really, but it still got stuck.

Proverbs‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭MSG‬‬
“Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim.”

Words. They have more power than we think. Words can weigh us down and cause us to be out of balance (yes, that’s a play on words <big grin>), but all jesting aside, our words are important. Words can and should help us grow stronger and have more confidence. Our words should be encouraging, fruitful, kind and full of love. Make a choice to speak words that bring life. Our words do make a difference; consider their impact before unintentionally speaking clumsy words.
