I was discussing strength verses stress with a friend today. My friend is experiencing a change in their life. It’s not an easy transition, yet they have managed the changes with bravery, strength and determination. That is until stress bullies it’s way onto the scene. That’s right. Stress is a bully.
1 Peter 2:6 MSG
“The Scriptures provide precedent: Look! I'm setting a stone in Zion, a cornerstone in the place of honor. Whoever trusts in this stone as a foundation will never have cause to regret it."
Whenever we experience stress, we can feel like we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. When difficult circumstances or situations happen, we all have those moments when we cry out for help. That’s when we are reminded that having our back up against the wall means that we are leaning against our Rock, Jesus. He is THE Rock and our Cornerstone.
No matter what that bully stress tries to imply, we know that God’s plans for us are good. When our hearts and minds are focused on our Foundation Stone, we can be sure that we are holding on to a good future plan. Lean into the Rock and He will make a way out of stresses tight squeeze. After all, Jesus is the Way Maker and the Rock. When we lean into Jesus, we’ll never have cause to regret it.
