As today progressed, it didn’t turn out the way I anticipated at all. I had plans to work outside, then it rained. Started on the back up plan and hit multiple roadblocks. Started on my back ups backup plan (that would be plan #3), the laundry, only to find myself manufacturing a contraption to clean the interior dryer vent space. Duck tape, ingenuity, and a little elbow grease later and plan number three was well underway. Plans. We make them and then we have to adjust our expectations.
2 Corinthians 9:8 MSG
“God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you're ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.”
Most days we are ready to do what needs to be done. We have work, errands, chores; things that need to be completed, but what happens when things don’t go the way we expected. Adjusting our expectations is going to make the job easier. God’s plans for us are good, and they are for our good. My own adjustment today resulted in clearing an area that had been neglected. God’s wisdom and knowledge reset my plans. Not twice, but three times. Who can ever know the mind of God, although I am confident that this particular chore was supposed to happen sooner than I had planned. God’s plans for us are better than anything we could ever have anticipated. When plans change, we need only adjust our expectations and make the most of the plan before us. God’s got our back, so be ready for anything and everything, and adjust as needed.
